Puliangudi (புளியங்குடி) is a municipality in Tirunelveli district of the Indian State Tamilnadu. It is located in the foothills of the Western Ghats. 45 km south from Rajapalyam and 30 km north of Coutrallam on NH 208 from Madurai to Kollam. Nearby towns include Sankaran Kovil (16 km), Kovilpatti (45 km), Tenkasi (30 km), Kadayanallur (12 km)
Puliangudi is also known as "Lemon City",-Maa Nagar due to varieties of lemon species cultivated around Puliangudi and its high contribution to the town's Agri-business led economy.

Gandhi Daily Market, located in the center of the town caters to the daily needs of those living in Puliangudi and also caters to the populace of neighboring towns and villages. At this market, typically a wide of range of products are available at whole sale prices. This is also the most important Town for SEED FARMS-mainly paddy.

More than one hundred homes were alloted to the Tamil Nadu Police-(Police Quarter's).

The first ever Electronic Telephone Exchange in Tirunelveli-District started its operation in Puliangudi on 1980s from a rented building. Now the BSNL has its own and well established building in the centre of the city.
Thanks to the telecom revolution, all cellular service providers provide good coverage in and around Puliangudi. Internet connectivity is good with both wireless and wired access.

Puliangudi has two major bus terminals - veeran sundaralingam bus terminus & maaveeran immanuel sekaran Bus Terminus, providing connectivity to both smaller villages in the interiors and nearby major towns like Tenkasi, Rajapalyam, Sankaran Kovil, Tirunelveli, Madurai etc.
Nearest Railway station is at Pambu Kovil which is serviced by passenger trains running between Madurai and Tirunelveli. Other major stations nearby are Sankaran Kovil and Kovilpatti, providing connection with Chennai and beyond through express trains.

Puliangudi is one of the Place in Tirunelveli District with all Medical Facilities. People from Sankarankovil,Kadayanallur and Vasudevanallur use Puliangudi Hospitals.
Also a New and Multi care Government Hospital is in the City.More than 200 outpatients and 25 inpatients can be treated in this Hospital at a time.
